I did an oil and filter(Oil & Air)change on my recently purchased (used) 4500 today. I also wanted to change the fuel filter as well.
I could not get the locking collar loose to free the sediment bowl and filter. It appears that it has never been changed and is therefore very tight. I tried a strap wrench (used on oil filters) as well as slightly tapping the raised areas on the collar with a screw driver and hammer. There is not much room to work with the loader frame.
Anyone have any suggestions or advice? It would be appreciated.
MIKE

Mike, I use a set of 4" pump pliers, works handy. I have basicly the same engine in my 4700, it is a hard place too get to.
